Srs. Philomena, Kumari and Maureen (from left) have recently come to Cold Ash to form the new community for the Centre. |
| January 3rd to 6th 2008 'Under 50's' gather in Cold Ash looking ahead to the General Chapter. Our fmm Spirituality Centre gained some special momentum this month when the younger sisters in the Province got together in Cold Ash. Internationality and different cultures can easily be found among the fmm. The theme of the meeting was based on the General Chapter 'Franciscan Women called to live the Kenosis of Christ in creative fidelity and solidarity with our suffering world'. The reflection led by Helen and Leontine left us challenged to rediscover the depth of our relationships: our relationship with God through contemplation and adoration, ever open to God's transforming Love; our relationships in community open to receive, welcome, share, trust and reconcile; with those around us, listening attentively to the needs of the world so that we can respond to to-days demands.

Note Updated Reflection The Lenten Reflection ... from Ashes to Fire invites us into a quiet response to Jesus invitation...'come follow me....' |
In addition .....
February 11th is the 150th anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady to Bernadette and will be celebrated by a 'world Day for the Sick'. Inter congregational.... we rejoice with out Jesuit Brothers on the election of Fr. Adolfo Nicolas SJ as their new Superior General. Fr. Nicolas will surely be well known to our sisters in Japan and to many others who will have passed through the East Asian Pastoral Institute in Manila where he was appointed director in 1979. Finally we prepare for a very early Easter. They say that Easter on March 23rd comes around only once in a century!!! |
